Stand 503, CABSAT, Dubai, 17-19 May 2022 – Production automation specialist nxtedition is exhibiting at CABSAT (17 – 19 May, Dubai World Trade Centre, stand 503), bringing its unique and powerful software solutions to the region for the first time. The company will be showing the nxtedition platform, the completely containerised software which can be implemented on premise, in public cloud or a hybrid of the two.

nxtedition has simplified the broadcast process by allowing users to focus on storytelling, by creating a single solution for planning, scripting, management programme or managing channel playout. The GUI is customised for each user, giving them just the functionality they need and ensuring all their tasks are intuitive, using drag and drop wherever practical. The system is very feature-rich, including sophisticated tools like creating outputs with graphics in multiple languages, driven by metadata.

The internal architecture of nxtedition is unique in being entirely built in JavaScript, and using the switching, layering and realtime rendering power of CasparCG to guarantee excellent image quality on standard hardware. This completely containerised architecture means it is also ideal for implementation in the public cloud. As well as allowing users to log in from any location and access all the tools in nxtedition, using the public cloud gives the user extremely high availability and business continuity.

“nxtedition systems are in use by mainstream broadcasters, but also by niche channels like religious outputs, by newspapers moving into online video, and by sports and community groups,” said Adam Leah, creative director at nxtedition. “These are all big markets in the Middle East, which is why we see CABSAT as such an important opportunity for us. We look forward to showing the community in the region just how quick and easy it is to set up a channel with our software.”

Both nxt on-premises software and nxt|cloud contain all the elements required for broadcast or streaming, from content ingest and transcoding through asset management and archiving to delivery to multiple platforms. Stories and programmes can be automatically repackaged for other outlets like social media. Because it is fully virtualised, systems can be built to the precise requirements of the user.
